A little Bio about myself,
I joined the army fresh out of high-school. My role in the Canadian forces was that of a main battle tank driver. I spent 5.5 years in the drivers seat of that magnificent machine. Upon releasing from the military, i pursued a career in the oil and gas field. From roughnecking to drilling on downhole drill rigs, and environmental coring rigs, taking care of the body was the last thing on my mind.
I stayed in the drilling game up until 2016, when i decided to make a change. I decided id join the fire department and spend my time learning the first responders field and helping those in need. Still not being able to let go of the oil field, i worked simultaneously on the volunteer Fire Department as well as Firefighting in the oil and gas industry. I continued to work both fields until 2021 when i made the choice to stay in firefighting in the oilfield and hang up my gear at the fire hall.
Finally succumb to a knee injury that required surgery, i finally let my body force me to slow down and start looking after it. Too many years neglecting my own body, thinking its just age, wear and tear and pushing forward, only made things worse. Making excuses like "i dont have the time" or "I'm too tired" only prolonged the problem and made the goals out of reach.
With my experience from the army to the oilfield and first responding, i can tell you, ITS NEVER TOO LATE. It all starts with you
LETS PUSH FORWARD AND UNCHAIN YOUR PRIME.
